Czech torah restoration

OUR CZECH HOLOCAUST SEFER TORAH

Sefer Torah #531 was entrusted to Congregation Chaverim in 1976 by the Memorial Scrolls Trust of London, England. They rescued over 1500 scrolls confiscated by the Nazis from Bohemia and Moravia, Czechoslovakia during World War II. Read more about the Memorial Scrolls Trust here.

For 47 years we have cared for, read from, and cherished this scroll. We have used this scroll during our dor v’dor (from generation to generation) processions at b’nai mitzvah ceremonies, on Mt. Lemmon on Rosh  Hashanah, and at many Shabbats and other services.

With a grant from Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona we hired Rabbi Kevin Hale of Boston, MA to repair and restore our Czech Holocaust Sefer Torah.
